Attraversiamo

Mi-a placut sa vad in schimb o comuniune a omului cu Dzeu. It is the sound of our breath. Ham on the inhale, sa on the exhale. [...] As long as we live, every time we breathe in or out, we are repeating this mantra. 'I am That. I am divine, I am with God, I am an expression of God, I am not separate, I am not alone, I am not this limited illusion of an individual."

Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave

And sometimes I feel that some of the books I read needn't be mentioned.
It happened again with Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave, hence I'll write only a few lines about this book.

Obviously, the slave narrative is the first African-American literary genre. Its role was not only to contribute to the struggle for abolition by presenting the (accurate?!) life of the slaves, but also to "demonstrate the power of the black imagination", as Kwame Anthony Appiah wrote in the preface of the novel, a power which everyone doubted back then.
